There’s a new reason to spend your Sunday in Downtown Glendale, Arizona. Beginning Sunday, February 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the neighborhood will debut the Sunday Brunch Art Crawl, a vibrant new monthly event that blends local flavor, creativity, and community.

Visitors are invited to start their morning brunching at one of Downtown Glendale’s locally owned restaurants, cafés, or coffee shops, then walk the historic neighborhood to experience artists painting live in front of downtown businesses. It’s an art crawl with a relaxed, daytime twist — perfect for families, date mornings, and anyone who loves supporting local.

Throughout the day, selected artists will create large-scale works right before your eyes. Pieces will be painted in impressive mini-mural sizes (4 ft x 7 ft) or on 40-inch by 40-inch canvases, transforming sidewalks into open-air studios. Visitors can watch the creative process unfold, meet the artists, and see each month’s theme interpreted in real time.

Each month will feature a unique theme for participating artists to follow. At the conclusion of the event, a panel of judges will select one standout piece to receive a $300 cash prize. Winning works — along with other featured pieces — will be displayed at participating art crawl businesses and become part of the Sunday Brunch Art Crawl map.

The Sunday Brunch Art Crawl will kick off a year-long series, bringing consistent energy, culture, and foot traffic to Downtown Glendale throughout 2026. The event is organized by a collaboration of downtown merchants and local Glendale artist Johnny Morales, with the goal of bringing more art to the community and supporting small businesses.
